Cameron Jibril Thomaz was born on September 8, 1987, in Minot, North Dakota. He frequently moved since his father was in the military as a child. Khalifa found his passion for producing music at a young age. He began composing lyrics at the age of nine and recording his own songs a few years later.

Wiz Khalifa and Snoop Dogg collaborated on the 2012 comedy film Mac and Devin Go to High School. The singles "Word Hard, Play Hard" and "Remember You" appeared on his following album, O.N.I.F.C. (2012). Khalifa collaborated with various notable rappers on the album, including Juicy J and Pharrell Williams. In addition, he created his own concert tour titled Under the Influence of Music. Wiz Khalifa released Blacc Hollywood in the year 2014. The album included music such as "We Dem boyz." Rick Ross and Nas appeared as special guests on this song. Additionally, he teamed with Raw Rolling Papers on a range of smoking-related merchandise. In 2015, Khalifa again topped the charts with his duet with Charlie Puth titled "See You Again." The homage to late actor Paul Walker debuted on the soundtrack for Furious 7 and was nominated for many Grammy Awards.
Khalifa and model Amber Rose were married. Prior to their divorce in 2014, they had one kid together, Sebastian.
