How Does A Sedentary Lifestyle Lead To Heart Disease?

Being physically inactive or sedentary can lead to heart and circulatory diseases like stroke. These are serious conditions that need immediate attention, so you need to do whatever is necessary to prevent them from happening.

Physical inactivity is a major risk factor for cardiovascular diseases. It increases the risk of coronary artery disease, stroke, and heart failure. In addition, it also contributes to other chronic conditions such as diabetes and obesity. If you are physically inactive, your chances of developing these diseases are higher than being active regularly.

You should be aware that being inactive can increase your risk of developing cardiovascular diseases by up to 20%. This means that people who sit around all day have twice the chance of having a heart attack or stroke than those who exercise regularly.

Defining Physical Inactivity

Physical inactivity can be a problem for many people, especially desk-ridden ones, or spend hours sitting at the computer. Being physically active does not mean joining up with some gym and running around like crazy. I could also include doing housework as part of getting more movement into your day.

Physical Inactivity and Heart Disease

It's a well-known fact that being inactive can lead to fatty material building up in your arteries. It may cause an artery tear or blockage if this happens, resulting in a heart attack and stroke. Fortunately, there are many ways we can reduce the risk of developing this condition through exercise. Don't forget about taking care of yourself with good diet choices.

How Much Activity Is Needed?

One hundred fifty minutes of moderate activity per week is the minimum needed for optimal health. This includes anything that makes you warmer and breath faster, like walking or cycling. You can spread these out over seven days instead if necessary.

The key to a healthy heart is activity. You don't need specific exercises or an intense sport, simply get up and go for walks every day. When sitting around doing nothing in your free time, try breaking this up with short naps on comfortable surfaces like couch cushions because we all know how hard it can be when our bodies want to sleep.
